Practice Areas

PILPG has established four specialized practice areas to better serve its clients. These practice areas are designed to provide structure to PILPG’s management, yet most client projects span multiple practice areas.

Peacebuilding

The Peacebuilding Practice provides legal advice to mediators, states, and sub-state entities during armed conflicts, and assistance with drafting peace agreements and post-conflict constitutions.

International Justice

The International Justice Practice provides legal research and analysis to international criminal tribunals. The program originated with a request from Richard Goldstone, the former Chief Prosecutor for the Yugoslav and Rwanda Tribunals.

Post-Conflict Political Development

The Post-Conflict Political Development Practice provides policy analysis and legal assistance concerning challenges facing states during a post-conflict transition.

Public International Law

The Public International Law Practice provides legal assistance to states and sub-state entities on a diverse array of legal matters, including human rights, minority rights, environmental protection, treaty interpretation, state succession, compliance with UN resolutions, the legality of the use of force, international adjudication, state recognition, economic embargos, territorial negotiations, global warming, and access to shared natural resources.
